Academic Programs
A. Ministerial Studies Diploma:
Upon completion of the Ministerial Studies Diploma (which includes all three levels of study), the student will have met the academic requirements of the U.S. General Council of the Assemblies of God. Successful completion of the Ministerial Studies Program should prepare the student for credentialing interviews, and tests. At the end of this three-year program, the student will have mastered the basic Bible content (Old and New Testament), theological principles, and practical ministry skills for service in a church or leadership position.

Level One (Certified): Upon completion of the Level One Ministerial Certificate, a student will have received a working knowledge of biblical study methods, studied several New Testament books, and gained basic ministry skills. A student should possess the academic requirements to apply for Certified Minister status in the U.S. General Council of the Assemblies of God.
Level Two (Licensed): Upon completion of the Level Two Ministerial Certificate, a student should have gained a mastery of specific Bible content, systematic theology, and developed valuable ministry skills. A student should possess the academic requirements to apply for Licensed Minister status in the U.S. General Council of the Assemblies of God.
Level Three (Ordained): Upon completion of the Level Three Ministerial Certificate, a student should have gained mastery of several books of the Bible, learned advanced theological concepts, and have developed administrative skills required for various ministerial roles. A student should possess the academic requirements to apply for Ordained Minister status in the U.S. General Council of the Assemblies of God (Students should be aware that in order to apply for Ordained Minister status, they must have held a credential at the Licensed level for a miniumum of 2 years and have served full-time in a ministry role).
Note: (1) Ministerial credentials are issued by the General Council of the Assemblies of God, not by the New Jersey District School of Ministry. This program provides academic training; not ministerial credentials.
(2) Completion of the courses does not guarantee that a ministry credential will be granted, nor that preferential treatment will be given to those completing the required ministerial training courses through the School of Ministry. The Credentialing of ministers is a process separate from completion of the educational requirements.
(3) Ministerial Internships are required only IF students are pursuing credentials with the Assemblies of God. |
